A lot of Eddsworld content was created in a program called "Flash" and viewable and playable through the "Flash Player". The files containing the Flash content ended in ".swf". The last official Eddsworld .swf submissions were Space Face (Part 1) (Newgrounds) and Date Night (Newgrounds and DeviantArt).
What was the Flash Player?
The Flash Player was a player used to play flash-based content-it was used on a number of sites. The Flash Player's last owner, Adobe, announced on July 25, 2017 that they would stop supporting and distributing it by the end of 2020. This took effect on December 31, 2020 and Adobe began preventing the player from running Flash content on January 12, 2021. The official Eddsworld twitter acknowledged the end of Flash in a series of tweets.
The following sites were still active and hosting Eddsworld flash content at the time of the discontinuation: Newgrounds, DeviantArt, Albinoblacksheep, and Kongregate.
